Box Score Six different Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse players scored goals as the Crusaders fell at Saint Leo by a 10-6 score this evening. Both teams are now 5-2.
The Lions led 6-3 at the half after the Crusaders took an early 2-0 lead on goals from Katelin Glass and Katy Connery. Saint Leo erased the two goal deficit with five unanswered markers before Rebecca Luca broke the string with 7:30 left in the half. Saint Leo netted the final two goals of the half to carry a 6-3 lead into halftime.
Saint Leo outscored the Abbey 4-3 in the final 30 minutes but the Abbey closed the gap to 7-6 as MacKenzie Miller and Molly Schaefer scored consecutive goals, but the Lions scored the final three goals of the game to pull away and earn the 10-6 win.
Six different Crusaders-Glass, Connery, Miller, Luca, Schaefer and Kassie Easter-all scored once and all were unasssisted.
Both teams finished with 21 shots and the Crusaders won the draw control battle 13-5 as Rebecca Stromberg led the way with four. Easter and Connery had three each.
