Women's Volleyball Falls In Five At Pfeiffer, 3-2

The Belmont Abbey women's volleyball team lost a 3-2 decision at Pfeiffer this evening in a Conference Carolinas matchup. The Falcons earn their first win of the year as they won by scores of 18-25, 27-25, 19-25, 25-23 and 17-15. Pfeiffer is now 1-21 overall and 1-13 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey is now 13-14 overall and 9-5 in the league.

Belmont Abbey hit .161 as Coreen Norwood and Caitlin Hankins both led the way with 10 kills. Dani Fortunato contributed nine and McKenna Murphy added eight. Gabby Martinez handed out 44 assists and tied her career-high with four service aces. Norwood added three aces.

Libero Deidre Rodriguez led all players with a career-high 24 digs. Tabitha Sims added 17 and Martinez totaled ten.

The Crusaders are off for one week as they return to the court next Friday at Limestone to start the final weekend of the regular season.
