Women's Lacrosse Moves To 2-0 With 18-6 Triumph Over Mount Olive

Belmont Abbey freshman Mackenzie Miller scored five goals on seven shots as the Crusaders women's lacrosse team moved to 2-0 with an 18-6 win over the visiting Mount Olive Trojans this evening at Alumni Field. The Abbey is now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Trojans drop to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in Conference Carolinas.

Miller led seven Crusaders that found the back of the net five times. Lindsay Connolly added three and six assists, Rebecca Diggs and Katy Connery both added three and Megan Patton scored twice. Elyse Mohn and Ariel Walker each scored once. Diggs and Patton both had one assist.

Belmont Abbey outshot Mount Olive 34-15 as it built a 7-4 halftime lead. The Crusaders dominated the second half by outscoring Mount Olive 11-2, while winning 13 of 14 draw controls.

Danielle Ruffalo stopped four shots.
