Box Score Tusculum scored four first half goals, three in the first 11
minutes, to earn a 4-0 win over the Belmont Abbey women's soccer
team this afternoon at Alumni Field. Tusculum, ranked fifth in the
Southeast Region, improves to 8-1-1, while the Abbey drops to
3-6-0.
The Pioneers got on the board just 3:27 into the match as
Tramicka Jones fired home an unassisted tally from the right corner
of the box to give Tusculum a lead it would never lose. The
advantage grew to 2-0 just six minutes later as Jones and Jana
Linke set up Taylor Lewis, whose shot from the center of the
box extended the Pioneer lead to 2-0.
11 seconds later, the Pioneers struck again thanks to an Abbey
own goal.
The scoring closed in the 26th minute on a Courtney Hackett
strike from the center of the box.
Tusculum outshot the Abbey 16-6 and held a 6-4 edge in corner
kicks.
