Belmont Abbey senior midfielder Nicole Voets scored the only goal of the match on a free kick in the 81st minute to lift the Crusaders women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Pfeiffer this afternoon. The Crusaders move to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in Conference Carolinas, while the Falcons remain winless at 0-3 overall and 0-1 in Conference Carolinas.

After a Pfeiffer foul of a Crusader at the top of the penalty area, Voets buried the ensuing free kick at the 9:57 mark to provide all of the scoring.

The Crusaders held an 8-5 overall shots margin, 4-3 on goal. Belmont Abbey took four more corners in the second for a total of nine while the Lady Falcons didn't get a single attempt. Jamie Alcala made three saves for Pfeiffer as did Hannah Kohls in net for Belmont Abbey.

Belmont Abbey is back in action Wednesdy night when it goes on the road to fae Lenoir-Rhyne.
