Women's Lacrosse Falls To Top-Seeed Limestone 14-7 In Conference Carolnas Championship Game

The second-seeded Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse team fell to the top-seeded Limestone Saints 14-7 this afternoon in the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship game. The Saints improve to 17-1, while the Abbey ends its season with a 9-9 record.

Abbey senior midfielder Laurie Jordan scored four of the Abbey's goals on eight shots, while Susan Killeavy, Kristyn Kinsey and Laura Dowd had single goals each. Brianna Dignan and Lindsay Connolly both had one assist.

Limestone, which outshot the Crusaders 31-19, was led by Chelsea Treat and Renee Albro, who both scored four goals. Raquel Prager added three while Katie Ilott, Kristen Demarzi and Britt Howard had one each. Prager had the Saints only assist.

Amanda Jones led all players with eight ground balls and four caused turnovers. She also won four draw controls. Natalie Crenshaw made 11 saves, eight in the second half.

The Saints led 7-3 at the half and outscored the Crusaders 7-4 in the final 30 minutes.
