Belmont Abbey senior midfielder Laurie Jordan scored six goals
on nine shots, one of eight Crusaders to score goals, as the Abbey
ended the regular season with a 20-8 win at Converse this
afternoon. Belmont Abbey, winners of four straight, move its record
to the .500 mark at 8-8 and 5-2 in Conference Carolinas, while
Converse falls to 6-11 overall and 2-5 in Conference Carolinas.
Jordan led all players with six goals, while Brianna Dignan
added five on six shots. Elyse Mohn, Amanda Jones and Megan Patton
all scored twice. Kristyn Kinsey, Laura Dowd and Emily Hudgins
scored once each. Jordan, Dignan and Lindsay Connolly all had three
assists, while Mohn had one.
Natalie Crenshaw made 11 saves in the cage.
Belmont Abbey outscored Converse 11-2 in the first half and
built a 9-6 second half advantage.
