Belmont Abbey junior Brianna Dignan led all players with five goals as the Abbey women's lacrosse team earned a 17-8 win at Queens this evening at Marion Diehl Park. Belmont Abbey improves to 7-3 overall and 4-3 in Conference Carolinas, while the Royals fall to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in Conference Carolinas.

Along with Dignan, Shannon Farden, Laurie Jordan and Tara Chmil all had three goals, while Kerri Gut, Meghan Darley and Theresa Nolan all had one. Samantha Hooker had a pair of assists, while Farden and Gut had one each. Nolan led the way with four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Kate Gavin made six saves, five in the second half.

The Abbey led 8-6 at the half and exploded for nine goals in the second, holding the Royals to just two.
