High school: Robert played three years of varsity volleyball at Thomas Dale High School under head coach Mike Walker. During his junior year, he got first team all-district, first team all-academic, and honorable mention all-region. During his senior year, he got first team all-district, District player of the year, first team all-region, first team all-metro, was the team captain, and finished the year with 204 kills, (10.2 kills per match), 49 blocks, 31 digs, and 48 aces. Robert also played tennis for three varsity years at Thomas Dale. During his senior year, he got first team all-district, first team all-academic, most valuable player, and was the team captain. In addition to his accomplishments with the two sports teams, Robert was awarded Thomas Dale High School’s Male Athlete of the Year.
Club: Robert Played four years for the club, VEER (Volleyball East End of Richmond).
Personal: Robert was born and raised in Chester, Virginia by parents Bob and Susan Nixon. He has one sister, Alexa Nixon, who is currently attending John Tyler Community College and plans to transfer to Virginia Commonwealth University to further her education in nursing.
