GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey women's volleyball players
Renata Bolado and
Sheridan Young have been selected for weekly honors by Conference Carolinas, the league office announced today. Bolado was the Player of the Week, while Young is the Libero of the Week.
Bolado, a junior outside hitter, was named to the all-tournament team following a solid weekend that saw Belmont Abbey finish the Elizabeth City State Viking classic with a 3-1 record. In four matches, the junior averaged 3.41 kills per set while hitting .346, including two matches with at least a .400 attack percentage. She started with 14 kills in a win over Glenville State before adding 11 more and a .435 attack percentage in a sweep of Elizabeth City State. She then added 17 kills and hit .552 against Kutztown. A native of Sugar Land, Texas, she closed the week with 16 kills, .292 attack percentage and nine digs in a win over West Chester.
Young was also named to the all-tournament team at the Elizabeth City State Viking classic with a 3-1 record. She averaged 3.53 digs per set while adding five aces and seven assists. The junior only made two reception errors on 74 attempts. She eclipsed 10 digs in a match three times, starting with 19 against Gleville State, 12 against Kutztown and finishing with a career-high 22 digs in a win over West Chester.
