BELMONT, N.C. -- The Belmont Abbey Athletics Department celebrated its 2025-26 successes on Monday night, honoring over 150 student-athletes at its annual Athletics Awards Ceremony at Alumni Field.
Individual awards were given out by each team, including the Impact Player, Crusader and Spirit of the Abbey. Accomplishments of the entire year were highlighted as were several Conference Carolinas awardwinners.
In addition, Athletic Department Awards were presented. The evening started with Sadie Hunt (Acrobatics & Tumbling) announced as the Malik Tucker Comeback Athlete of the Year award. Abe McNelly (Men's Track & Field) and Brielle George (Women's Basketball/Women's Track & Field) won Michael A. Nalls Awards as the top freshmen. The Larry Reidy Service Award was given to Noah Ziegler for his work within the Athletic Department in game operations, while Clare Bruno (Women's Track & Field) repeated as the Father Raphael Bridge Award winner for highest overall GPA (4.0).
The Marty Thomas Awards went to Joe Whitaker (Baseball) and Addie Galek (Women's Soccer) as the top seniors, while Irenge Nkere (Men's Track & Field) and Summer Eddinger) won the Father Martin "Pop" Hayes Awards for embodying the Belmont Abbey College spirit.
