BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey Athletics Department is announcing several schedule changes to this weekend's games due to the incoming winter storm.

The Belmont Abbey baseball team will open its season with a single, nine-inning game at Coker at 1 p.m. Friday in Hartsville, S.C. The other two games scheduled for this weekend have been postponed and will attempted to be rescheduled at a later date.

Softball's season-opening doubleheader at Newberry has been moved to March 12 with the same start time of 1 p.m.

The home basketball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday against Erskine has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 16 at the Wheeler Center. The women's game will tip-off at 5 p.m. followed by the men's game at 7 p.m.

Additionally, the men's volleyball matches at Lincoln Memorial previously scheduled for Saturday were affected. The match against Northern Kentucky has been canceled while the match at Lincoln Memorial has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 13 with a time to be announced later.
