BELMONT, N.C. -- Alayna Patrick recorded three of Belmont Abbey's nine hits, but North Greenville took a Conference Carolinas softball doubleheader from the Crusaders Tuesday afternoon at Crusader Field. The Trailblazers took the first game 6-1 and the second 5-2.

With the results, The Abbey falls to 20-18 overall and 12-8 in league play.

THE OPENER

• Patrick went 2-for-4 in the contest with three others tallying a hit. Hannah Jane Gard, Casey Laing and Allie Mayer also singled.
• The lone run came on a sacrifice fly by Megan Towery in the third, scoring Trinity Wall, who was hit by a pitch to start the frame.
• Erin Gill took the loss to fall to 6-3. She allowed four hits and four earned runs in 1.2 innings pitched,

THE NIGHTCAP

• The Crusaders had four hits in the contest with Patrick's RBI double in the sixth the only extra-base hit on the day. that followed a Towery single that made the score 6-1.
• Laing singled and scores, as did Trinity Wall.

UP NEXT

• Belmont Abbey faces its next three doubleheaders on the road, before ending the season at home.
• The Crusaders travel to Barton and UNC Pembroke this weekend.
