GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team had four student-athletes earn all-conference honors as the Conference Carolinas league office announced the 2026 All-Conference teams Wednesday.
Ricard Novell earned a spot on the first team,
Isaac Buerkle and
Cameron Simpson were named to the second team while
Peru Bayo earned a spot on the third team.
Novell is back on the team after earning first-team honors last season. He was the regular starter at No. 1 single and won six matches in Conference Carolinas play. He was also ranked in the Top 75 in all of Division II earlier this season.
Buerkle earns his first all-conference selection after going 6-1 in conference play at No. 2 singles. He also went 6-1 in conference in doubles play as well for the Abbey. Simpson also earned a spot after going undefeated in Conference Carolinas play in singles and a 16-4 record. He also went 17-5 in doubles play for Belmont Abbey and also earned Player of the Week honors earlier this year.
Bayo is back on the team after making it last year. He finished 9-0 in Conference Carolinas play and 12-4 overall. The Crusaders went 10-1 in conference play this season.
The all-conference awards were voted on by the head coaches within the league.
