COLUMBUS, Ga. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team saw its 2025-2026 campaign come to a close as the Crusaders battled with No. 2 seed Columbus State Monday morning at the Walden Tennis Center.
The Crusaders dropped a 4-0 match to the Cougars as the two faced off against one another in the NCAA Southeast Regional.
The Cougars took the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Peru Bayo took a set of Andrea Sandrone in a match that went unfinished. Columbus State won matches at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles to clinch the match.
Belmont Abbey closes its season at 23-18 after making its fifth straight NCAA Tournament Appearance. Columbus State is 20-2 and advances to play the winner of Lander and Flagler on Tuesday.
