GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Joseph Woods-Weisman, the first Belmont Abbey bowler in school history to reach the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championshiop, saw his tournament come to an end Monday with a first-round setback.
One of 24 bowlers nationally to make the field, Woods-Weisman completed six games of qualifying during the morning session, finishing 22nd. He averaged 175.5 pins with a high score of 200. In the first round of match play, the freshman from was drawn against No. 11 seed Dmitri Richardson of Wichita State, but lost the three-game roll off 595-539.
Belmont Abbey also qualified for the team competition, which begins on Thursday.
