BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team clinched a share of the Northwest Division title thanks to a 4-3 victory over Lees-McRae Friday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders took two of the three doubles matches to earn a point while
Hanley Riner,
Leilany Sanchez and
Rebekka Collyer all won in straight sets.
Collyer had the clinching point with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Lily Smith.
Belmont Abbey improves to 15-6 overall, 8-1 in conference play and 6-0 in the division. Lees-McRae is now 6-5 overall, 3-5 in league play and 2-4 in the division.

- Belmont Abbey will split the squad with a pair of road matches Saturday.
- One group travels to face Winston-Salem State while the other group travels to Tigerville to face North Greenville.
- The matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. starts, respectively.
