BELMONT, N.C. -- Ten different players scored goals, led by Emerson Sheyda with three, leading Belmont Abbey to a 14-5 victory over Shepherd in women's lacrosse action Saturday morning.

With the victory, the Crusaders improved to 5-3, while the Rams fall to 1-3. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sheyda led the Crusaders with four points, adding an assist to her scoring total.
• Addyson Greenspan and Abbey McCarthy both scored a pair of goals, while Trinity Cassidy and Caitlin Miller had a goal and an assist for two points. 
• Taylor Tobin, Abba Walsh, Kimberleigh Hansberry, Macy Lashells, and Taylor Lester each scored once. 
• Yianna Giannoulis grabbed five ground balls while Greenspan won four controls. 
• Summer Eddinger made 11 saves and and grabbed a ground ball in goal for the Crusaders.
• The Abbey opened a 9-3 lead in the first half and never open the door for the Rams to rally.

• Belmont Abbey has the week off before hosting Montevallo next Saturday at noon.
• The contest is the fourth of a nine-game homestand.
