BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team battled with Emmanuel in its final match before spring break Thursday at the Reidy Tennis Center.
Despite winning in doubles, the Crusaders fell 5-2 to the Lions in a match that officially counts as a nonconference contest.
Tim Stemler and
Noelle Andrey Ampong won in No. 3 doubles for the Abbey while
Ricard Novell and
Peru Bayo earned wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
With Thursday's results, Belmont Abbey is now 8-9 on the season while Emmanuel is 6-3.
UP NEXT
- The Crusaders are off for a week and return to play next Friday for the Conference Carolinas opener at Francis Marion.
- An additional group of Crusaders is scheduled to host Division I North Carolina A&T on the same day.
- The matches are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m. starts, respectively.
