FLORENCE, S.C./BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team returned to action with a pair of matches Friday. One group of Crusaders opened Conference Carolinas play at Francis Marion while another group stayed at the Reidy Tennis Center to face Division I North Carolina A&T.
The Crusaders swept the Patriots 7-0 while the other group facing the Aggies dropped a close 4-3 contest.
In the match at Francis Marion,
Noelle Andrey Ampong and
Cameron Simpson both won in singles and doubles play while
Brody Sawyer,
Ryan Nguyen and
Lucas Trigo all won in singles play against the Aggies.
With Friday's result, Belmont Abbey is now 9-10 on the season and 1-0 in Conference Carolinas play. Francis Marion is 2-5 overall and 0-1 in league play while North Carolina A&T is now 9-2.
