Men’s Tennis Sweeps King, Battles UNC Asheville on Busy Saturday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BRISTOL, Tenn./ASHEVILLE, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team had a busy Saturday with two road matches at King and Division I UNC Asheville on Saturday.

The Crusaders stayed unbeaten in Conference Carolinas play with a 7-0 sweep of the Tornado while battling with the Bulldogs before UNCA earned a 5-2 win over the Abbey.

Against King, the Crusaders won all nine matches with Isaac Buerkle, Cameron Simpson, Tim Stemler and Noelle Andrey Ampong winning in both singles and doubles play. In Asheville, Belmont Abbey was swept in doubles play but Joel Lamotte earned a win at No. 2 singles and Aarav Hada won by injury retirement.

With Saturday's results, Belmont Abbey is now 14-14 overall and 6-0 in Conference Carolinas play.
