BANNER ELK, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team continued its strong start to Conference Carolinas play with a 6-1 victory over Lees-McRae Tuesday at the Sandra R. Porter Tennis Courts.
The Crusaders took the win after sweeping doubles play and winning five of the six singles matches.
All of Belmont Abbey's wins came in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-0 win from
Charlie Fremaux in No. 5 singles. Fremaux,
Noelle Andrey Ampong,
Cameron Simpson and
Isaac Buerkle all earned wins in both singles and doubles play.
With Tuesday's result, Belmont Abbey is now 13-13 overall and 5-0 in Conference Carolinas play. Lees-McRae is 4-3 overall, 1-3 in the league.
