Strong Bullpen Showing Helps Abbey Baseball to Victory over King

BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Belmont Abbey baseball team used a strong showing from the Belmont Abbey bullpen and a pair of late-inning home runs as the Crusaders defeated King 6-4 in a Conference Carolinas contest Friday afternoon at King Baseball Field.

Ethan Yarbrough, Josh Wise and Wyatt Clarke all combined to allow just two hits over a scoreless final 3.2 innings to help the Crusaders earn their third straight win and six out of their last seven games.

Caleb Burr also had three hits for the Abbey while Joe Whitaker, Matthew Fattore and Jake Bidoglio had two hits each.

With Friday's result, Belmont Abbey is now 19-8 overall and 14-5 in Conference Carolinas play. King is 10-17 overall and 7-9 in league play.
