NEWPORT, Ky. -- Belmont Abbey rolled a three-game series total of 2,971 pins, earning the No. 1 seed during the morning qualifying round of the 2026 Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Men's Bowling Championship, being held at SuperBowl Bellewood.

As the top seed, the Crusaders earned a first-round bye and will play No. 5 seed Barton at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Between qualifying and bracket play, the Conference presented awards announced yesterday. It also presented the academic Excellence Award to junior Gavin Gucwa for having the highest GPA among competitors.
