TEMPE, Ariz. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team moved up to No. 23 in the latest ITA Rankings that were released Wednesday.
The Crusaders moved up from being ranked No. 28 last week.
The objective of the ITA Rankings is to accurately reflect team and player performance occurring solely within sanctioned college tennis dual matches and tournaments and solely within one given academic season.
The ITA Rankings Algorithm is based on an accumulation of win points and loss points, accounting for a win-loss record, the strength of schedule, and the depth/significance of wins and losses. As the season progresses, the value of wins and losses are constantly adjusted.
Belmont Abbey opens Conference Carolinas play with a match at Francis Marion starting at 1 p.m. from Florence, S.C. The Crusaders will have another group facing North Carolina A&T at 3 p.m. Friday from the Reidy Tennis Center.
