GREENVILLE, S.C. — Belmont Abbey freshman forward
Brielle George was named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week by the league office Monday.
George helped Belmont Abbey to three wins last week, averaging 13.3 rebounds per game and adding three steals. She accounted for one steal and at least 10 rebounds in each contests. She started with 14 rebounds against Erskine before adding 10 against Emmanuel and 16 rebounds against Southern Wesleyan.
This is the second time she was named Defensive Player of the Week this season and the fourth overall after
Riley James earned the award in consecutive weeks this season.
The Crusaders close the regular season with a Northwest Division contest against Lees-McRae at 5 p.m. Wednesday from Banner Elk, N.C.
