BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team earned its first win of the season with a 4-3 victory over Augusta Friday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders earned the win in dramatic fashion thanks to
Rebekka Collyer winning in No. 6 singles in three sets. Belmont Abbey swept the doubles match to earn the doubles point that included Collyer and
Leilany Sanchez winning at No. 3 doubles.
Kaitlin Nguyen and
Mackenzie McCarthy earned wins at No. 2 and No. 4 singles, respectively, for the Abbey.
Both Belmont Abbey and Augusta are 1-2 on the season.
UP NEXT
The Crusaders travel to Harrogate, Tennessee to play two dual matches against Lincoln Memorial and Tusculum.
The matches are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
