Brielle George was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for December by the league office Friday.
George finished the month averaging 7.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game highlighted by three straight double-doubles in games against Converse, Lees-McRae and Augusta. She made her first career start against the Jaguars on December 20 and finished that game with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The freshman from West Palm Beach, Fla. is currently the Crusaders' leading rebounder at 7.7 per game.
The Crusaders return to the court Saturday for a road contest at UNC Pembroke. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
