Career Days from Lusk, George Help Abbey Pull Away from UMO

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Madison Lusk and Brielle George both had career-best performances as the Belmont Abbey women's basketball team earned its third straight win with a 72-60 victory over Mount Olive Monday afternoon at Kornegay Arena.

Lusk finished with a career-high 24 points — including six 3-pointers made — to go along with four steals while George tallied her sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Both are career highs for the freshman forward, who was named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the day.

Janiah Shular was the other Crusader in double figures with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Belmont Abbey improves to 13-4 overall and 8-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Mount Olive is now 5-10 overall and 2-7 in league play.
