BELMONT, N.C. -- Jean Teson scored three tries and Belmont Abbey built a 24-0 lead midway through the first half, lifting the Crusaders to a 41-12 victory over Clemson in collegiate rugby action Saturday afternoon. The game served as the home opener at Alumni Field and lifted The Abbey to a 2-0 record in non-conference games this year.
Four other players added a try.
Belmont Abbey plays its inaugual match in the newly-formed Atlantic Rugby Conference next Saturday at St. Bonaventure.
