ROCK HILL, S.C. — Belmont Abbey junior defender
Sarah Schumacher was named the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday by the league office.
Schumacher led the Crusader offensive attack with a pair of two-goal games in road contests at Coker and Barton last week. Against Coker, she was credited with the game-winning goal after scoring the opening goal of the game. She took 10 shots against the Bulldogs as part of her efforts.
She currently leads the team in goals with five and has scored more goals this season than she did the previous two years. Additionally, her play has helped the Crusaders build a four-game streak. It is tied for the longest win streak in program history, dating back to the 2017 season.
Belmont Abbey hosts No. 7 Lander as part of Homecoming weekend at 7 p.m. Friday at Alumni Field.
