Abigail Crain Back-to-Back Scholar Athlete of the Year

Crain Earns Second Straight Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year Honor

GREENVILLE, S.C. — For the second straight year, Belmont Abbey senior forward Abigail Crain was named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The league unveiled the full list of honorees Wednesday afternoon by the league office.

Crain was selected by the Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Affairs and Awards Committee for the award.

She holds a 3.97 grade point average and is an accounting major at Belmont Abbey with a minor in Cyber Audit, Risk and Compliance. She's also been a team captain the last two years and was the Conference Carolinas Elite 23 Winner last season.

She finished the 2024-25 season averaging 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in 24 games played this season. Additionally, she finished her Belmont Abbey career with 1,368 points, which is 11th most in program history.

Crain is a three-time CSC Academic All-District Selection and a first-team all-conference selection for the third straight year and was a team captain the last two seasons. She also finished her career with 538 rebounds and 242 assists.

The Scholar-Athlete awards Presented by Hudl are awarded annually to one individual in each Conference Carolinas sponsored sport.

To be considered, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. In addition, the nominees for the award must have been named all-conference in their sport and also chosen academic all-conference.
 
The Conference Carolinas Winter Scholar-Athletes of the Year Presented by Hudl represent five different member institutions.
