BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team earned its fourth straight win thanks to a 6-1 victory over Converse Tuesday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders took eight of the nine matches, including all three in doubles play.
Tim Stemler and
Nicholas Cary earned wins in both doubles and singles play for the Abbey. Stemler teamed up with
Noelle Andrey Ampong to earn a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles and then a 7-5, 6-4 win over Marty Letessier at No. 4 singles.
Cary and
Jackson Korta earned a 7-6 win in doubles and then went on to defeat Lucas Walker, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
With Tuesday's result, Belmont Abbey improves to 18-16 overall and 6-1 in Conference Carolinas play. Converse is 10-15 overall, 5-2 in the league.
