TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- Jack Clough scored three goals but a quick start by North Greenville lifted the Trailblazers to an 11-9 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. The hosts scored just six seconds into the game and added another 36 seconds later, enroute to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 8-3 overall and 4-1 in league play. NGU now sits atop the standings at 8-5, 5-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Clough's three goals equated to a team-high three points. He took eight shots, six on goal.
- Mikey Sweigart tallied two goals, while four others found the net, including Jeremy Mahoney, who added an assist for two points.
- Sweigart and Joseph Penner shared the team lead in ground balls with two.
- Eddie Kielkopf made 15 saves in goal for the Crusaders.
