GREENVILLE, S.C. — Belmont Abbey sophomore infielder Casey Laing earned a second-team all-conference selection as the Conference Carolinas softball all-conference teams were unveiled by the league office Thursday.

She earned the all-conference spot at first base and it is the seventh straight year — excluding the 2020 season — where a Crusader softball student-athlete has earned all-conference honors.  

Laing led the Crusaders in batting average (.351), RBI (24) and home runs (7) and she also had an eight-game hitting streak during the season. Additionally, she finished the season with a seven-game hitting streak and drove in 11 runs over the final games of the season.

This is the first all-conference honor for Laing.
