Teasley Records Two Hits as Season Comes to a Close

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Kennedy Teasley had two of Belmont Abbey's five hits but ninth-seeded King held the No. 8 seeded Crusaders scoreless for a 5-0 victory in the opening round of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Softball Championship Thursday morning.

The Crusaders' season comes to a close with 25-22 record while the Tornado (32-24) advanced to the double eliminination portion of the bracket.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Teasley singled in the second and doubled in the fourth in her three at-bats.
  • Casey Laing had a single and two walks while Megan Towery and Ella Crowe also reach base safely.
  • King had eight hits overall, scoring twice in the second and three times in the third.
  • Both teams left nine runners on base.
  • Sienna Garcia (13-13) started the contest but lasted only 2.2 innings. Erin Gill did not allow a run in 4.1 innings of relief.
