BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Casey Laing homered and drove in four runs during a doubleheader at Lees-McRae Tuesday, but the Bobcats swept both games, 13-4 in five innings and 7-6.
With the results, the Crusaders fall to 20-24 overall and 7-15 in league play, while Lees-McRae improves to 9-33, 3-17.

- Belmont Abbey pounded out 12 hits in the contest, led by Sami Kirk with a career-high three and Vicky Lott and Trinity Wall with two each.
- Laing had a two-run double in the second that put the Crusaders up 4-1.
- The Abbey was up 5-4 in the fourth, but the Bobcats plated three in their half of the frame.
- Erin Gill allowed just one earned run in 4.0 innings of relief, but took the loss to fall to 2-4.
