BANNER ELK, N.C. — Alexis Burkhalter won matches in both doubles and singles play as the Belmont Abbey women's tennis team took on No. 48 Lees-McRae Monday at the C.D. Chesley Tennis Courts.
Burkhalter earned two points for the Crusaders but it was the Bobcats who came away with the 5-2 win.
The Crusaders earned the doubles point with a sweep before Lees-McRae rallied for the win in singles play.
Burkhalter teamed up with
Paola Socarras to earn a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
With Monday's result, Belmont Abbey is now 13-17 on the season and 6-3 in league play. Lees-McRae is now 14-4 overall, 9-0 in the league.
