Lorenzo, Tomei Lead Men's Lacrosse to 12-7 Win at Coker

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lorenzo finished game with six points, dishing out two assists, plus grabbing three ground balls. He gave Belmont Abbey the lead for good at 4-3 with his first goal, assisted by Garrett Clare with 3:06 remaining in the second quarter, and also scored twice in the final two minutes of the game to secure the win.
  • John Valetto added three goals and Quinn Smith two. Xavier Miller, Thomas Lewis and Jeremy Mahoney rounded out the scoring.
  • Michael Dixon led the team with a career-high six ground balls, while Matt Campfield, Ben Johnson and Alex Singh caused two turnovers each.
  • Shots were nearly even with Belmont Abbey holding a slight 43-39 edge (28 to 22 on goal).
  • Ground balls favored the Crusaders at 34 to 25.
  • The Abbey outscored Coker 7-3 in the second and third quarters combined.
