BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team took eight of nine total matches as the Crusaders earned a 6-1 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan Thursday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders took all three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches to take the victory.
Hanley Riner and
Mackenzie McCarthy teamed up in No. 1 doubles to earn a 6-2 win and won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
Elizabeth Vollmin and
Paola Socarras both won their separate doubles matches and each followed that with wins in singles play.
With Thursday's result, Belmont Abbey improves to 5-9 on the season while West Virginia Wesleyan is 1-7.
