DUE WEST, S.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team found itself in a close battle with Erskine Saturday afternoon at the Sloan-Cox Tennis Courts.
The Crusaders and Flying Fleet split in singles play but it was Erskine who earned a 4-3 win over the Abbey.
Alexis Burkhalter finished with wins at No. 3 doubles with
Paola Socarras and in No. 5 singles over Angelina Jacobs. Additionally,
Frankee Hendricks and
Mackenzie McCarthy both won at No. 1 and 3 singles, respectively.
With Saturday's result, Erskine is now 8-16 overall and 1-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Erskine is 10-4 overall and 5-0 in the league.
