BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team extended its winning streak to three thanks to a pair of wins over Johnson & Wales and Barton Friday at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders defeated the Wildcats 5-2 in the opening match of the day and followed that with a 4-3 victory over Barton in a Conference Carolinas match.
In the opener,
Matthew Orozco and
Peyton Williams both earned wins in doubles and singles play to lead the Abbey against the Wildcats.
Against Barton, the Crusaders took two of three matches in doubles play at No. 2 and 3 to earn the point and earned wins in No. 2, 5 and 6 singles to earn the win.
Jackson Korta led the Abbey in that match winning in both singles and doubles play.
With Friday's results, the Crusaders improve to 13-15 overall and 2-0 in Conference Carolinas play.
