NEWPORT, Ky. -- Belmont Abbey rolled a three-game series total of 2865 pins, earning the No. 1 seed during the morning qualifying round of the 2025 Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Men's Bowling Championship, being held at SuperBowl Bellewood.
In the first round of play, contested in the afternoon, the Crusaders defeated No. 4 Walsh, 4-0.
Between qualifying and bracket play, the Conference presented awards
announced yesterday. It also presented the academic Excellence Award to junior
Gavin Gucwa for having the highest GPA among competitors.
With the win, the Crusaders advance to a winner's bracket match-up against No. 2 Emmanuel at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
