BELMONT, N.C. -- Triniti Cassidy scored a career-high seven goals and Belmont Abbey jumped out quickly en route to a 24-10 victory over Converse in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action Tuesday night.
With the victory, the Crusaders even their overall record at 4-4, including 2-0 in league play, while the Valkyries fall to 2-7, 1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cassidy previously tallied five goals twice this season and once as a freshman. She added one assist for a career-high-tying eight points and now leads the team in the category this season.
- Olivia Ritchie (career-best) and Katelyn Miller tallied four goals apiece with Miller adding an assist for five points.
- A pair of Crusaders grabbed two ground balls each -- Yianna Giannoulis and Scout Chaffin.
- Kacey Kubarewicz won 12 darw controls, helping The Abbey to a 23-13 advantage in the category.
- Six of the Crusaders' goals came on free-position attempts.
- Belmont Abbey outshot Converse 40-23 overall and 33-15 on goal.
