Box Score 3 GREENSBORO and BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team officially got its season underway with three matches on Thursday: a single match at Guilford and a doubleheader at Gardner-Webb.
The Crusaders opened with a 6-1 win against the Quakers before falling in both matches to the Bulldogs by scores of 7-0 and 6-1.
At Guilford, the Crusaders won eight of the nine countable matches with
Jon Bayo,
Joshua Mayhew,
Matthew Orozco and
Samuel McGregor winning in both singles and doubles play.
At Gardner-Webb, Belmont Abbey earned wins in two matches as
Noelle Andrey Ampong and
Tim Stemler earned a win in No. 2 doubles while
Nicholas Cary earned a win in No. 3 singles. The full results of the match will be posted at a later time.
Belmont Abbey is 1-2 on the season following Thursday's matches.

- The Crusaders will split the team once again for four matches at two different sites.
