GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team earned a split of a doubleheader against Division I UNC Greensboro Saturday at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
Belmont Abbey won a 4-3 decision over the Spartans in the opener before dropping a 7-0 decision in the nightcap.
In the opener, the Crusaders took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 from
Marcus Bergelin and
Nicholas Cary and at No. 2 from
Isaac Buerkle and
Samuel McGregor. Cary won in No. 3 singles along with
Ricard Novell in No. 1 singles while Bergelin earned the clinching point at No. 4 with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Andrew Black.
In the second match, the Spartans took all nine matches over the Abbey.
Belmont Abbey is now 4-10 on the season while UNC Greensboro is 3-4.

- The Crusaders will split the squad with a pair of doubleheaders at Augusta and home against Montreat.
