YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Shane Potts reached double figures for the third time early in his freshman season, but a shooting drought in the second half helped Young Harris to a 71-46 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Saturday afternoon. Potts tallied a career-best 17 points for the Crusaders.
With the result, The Abbey falls to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in league play, while the Mountain Lions improve to 5-3, 3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Potts was the only player to reach double figures in scoring, hitting five three-pointers and two free throws.
- Judah Ravenell was the second-leading scorer with nine points.
- Daniel Lubamba was the team's rebounding leader with four, while four players tallied a pair of assists.
- The Crusaders shot 30.0 percent (15 of 50) in the contest, including only 23.3 percent (7 of 30) after intermission.
- Young Harris held a 45-24 advantage in rebounding and forced twice as many turnovers (16 to 8).
