COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Belmont Abbey junior defender
Sarah Schumacher added another postseason accolade to her collection as she was named an All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Tuesday. She is the first Crusader in program history to earn NFHCA All-America honors.
Schumacher earned the honor with her breakout campaign finishing with six goals and a pair of assists in 2025 along with two game-winning goals and a defensive save.
The junior from Cologne, Germany, started all 17 games for the Abbey this season and was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-conference honors.
Additionally, she was a second-team All-Atlantic Region selection by the NFHCA earlier this month. This is the first season that the NFHCA has had All-Region teams for Division II. Schumacher is one of five from the South Atlantic Conference to earn All-America distinction.
