GREENVILLE, S.C. — For the second straight week,
Riley James is the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week. The senior guard from Davidsonville, Maryland earned the honor after the Crusaders earned a 72-59 win over Converse Saturday.
James finished with six points and came down with career-best 10 rebounds (nine defensive) to go with three steals and a pair of blocked shots.
The Crusaders are now 7-1 overall and 3-0 in Conference Carolinas play after winning their fifth straight game.
Belmont Abbey plays its final two games before Christmas starting with a contest Tuesday against Lees-McRae followed by a Saturday showdown against Augusta. The games are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 2 p.m. starts, respectively.
