GREENVILLE, S.C. — Belmont Abbey sophomore forward
Hannah Willis was named the Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday by the league office.
Willis scored two goals in a pair of wins over Lees-McRae and UNC Pembroke this past week. In a 4-0 win over the Bobcats at home Wednesday, Willis scored in the second half to help the Abbey put that game away.
She followed that up on Saturday as she scored with less than six minutes left to help the Crusaders erase a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 victory over the Braves.
Willis has four goals and two assists for the Crusaders and has appeared in 13 games this season for the Abbey with nine starts. She is also the third Crusader to earn Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors after Anna Richárd and
Sabrina Cunha did so earlier this season.
The Crusaders head on the road to face Converse at 5 p.m. Tuesday in a Northwest Division contest.
